- mini lecture, I used our new magnetic ten frames to reinforce the concept, this definitely helped.
- math u see worksheet
GAME- I got Genevieve and Nathan to use flash cards, they first had to solve the equation and then with the answer round to the nearest 10, I then had them put the card in piles of 0, 10, or 20 whichever the sum rounded too.
Word problem - they did a word problem sheet from math u see
Next we read chapter 2 of tornado
These were the skills learned in today's lesson
1 st up was the journal entry for the chapter summary. Genevieve worked on hers completely on her own. Genevieve did do a beautiful illustration as well when she went to bed.
I scribed for Nathan, he worked on descriptive words in his writting today, even though I hadn't told him that was one of the goals today :). Nathan thought it was pretty funny when he had to correct my spelling :)
We jotted down our key points first.
Next L A assignment was read a paragraph from the book and look at how descriptive the writting is, we read another paragraph that got the same idea across but was not as descriptive. They then had to write a paragraph using their own descriptive words. I let Nathan do this assignment completely on his own.
This was Genevieve's.
This was Nathan's, his is a little hard to read because if his difficulty printing.
Next up was Canadian arctic. We read about prehistoric arctic, we learned about the ice ages. We could draw on our experiences we had this summer. We had gone hiking on a glacier :)
Also driving through saskatewan we noticed boulders in random spots, we discussed that the glaciers had moved these ricks there.
We remembered seeing how glaciers carved the rocks when we went hiking too.
Thanks for the photos of the lesson summary - really helps me to check off the little PLO boxes!
ReplyDeleteYou can really see how Nathan struggles with his printing. I am glad you are seeing OT/PT to keep balancing the need for him to improve his skills with the need for him to be able to express himself. It's a tough one to balance...
Great idea to include photos that link with your learning!
